1 Overview & Safe Harbour

Softwares Directory operates as an independent software and Android app directory. We take copyright infringement seriously and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) (17 U.S.C. § 512) and applicable international copyright law.

We qualify for the DMCA safe harbour protections under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c) as a service provider that:

We are an independent directory. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC, APKPure, or any app developer or publisher listed on this site.

2 What Content We Host

The following types of content are hosted or displayed on this site:

All app names, logos, trademarks, and application code remain the exclusive intellectual property of their respective owners. We do not claim ownership of any third-party content.

We do not host: paid applications, cracked or modified APKs, apps with removed DRM, or any content obtained through unauthorised means.

3 Developer / Publisher Removal Requests

If you are an app developer, publisher, or authorised representative and wish to have your application removed from our directory (without filing a formal DMCA notice), you may send a simple removal request:

We will verify ownership and remove the listing and any hosted APK file within 3–5 business days. This informal process is faster than the formal DMCA process for straightforward removal requests.

4 How to Submit a DMCA Takedown Notice

To submit a formal DMCA notice, send an email to our designated agent:

Your notice must comply with 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) and include all elements listed in Section 5 below.

We will confirm receipt and begin reviewing your notice.

Content removed within 5 business days

If the notice is valid, we remove the APK file, listing, or other infringing content and notify you.

Counter-notice window (10–14 business days)

The uploader may file a counter-notice. If no counter-notice is received, the content remains removed permanently.

5 Required Elements of a Valid Notice

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), a valid DMCA takedown notice must include all of the following:

Required Information Checklist

① Identification of the copyrighted work
Describe the copyright-protected work that you claim has been infringed (e.g. "The APK file for [App Name], version [X], developed by [Company]").
② Identification of the infringing material
Provide the specific URL(s) on softwares.directory where the infringing content is located (e.g. https://softwares.directory/android/app/app-slug or the download URL).
③ Your contact information
Your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
④ Statement of good faith
A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
⑤ Statement of accuracy
A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
⑥ Physical or electronic signature
A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf. Typing your full name constitutes a valid electronic signature.
Notices that do not include all required elements cannot be processed. We are not responsible for delays caused by incomplete notices.

6 Counter-Notification Process

If you believe content was removed from this Site due to a mistaken or misidentified DMCA notice, you may file a counter-notification under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g).

A valid counter-notice must include:

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we will notify the original complainant and may restore the content after 10–14 business days, unless the complainant files a court action.

7 Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i), we maintain and enforce a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, users or processes that are repeat infringers. Any automated scraper or uploader that repeatedly submits infringing content will be permanently blocked.

8 Misrepresentation & False Claims

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that content is infringing, or that content was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees.

Please ensure that your claim is accurate and made in good faith before submitting a takedown notice.
